What is Fire Resistant Doorset?
A Fire Doorset is a complete assembly with a fire resistant rating (i.e. 30 min, 60 min and 120 min) fitted as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire and smoke between compartments and to enable a secure exit from a building.
What Does a Fire Resistant Doorset Include?
A Fire Resistant Doorset includes a door leaf with fire resistant hardware, hardwood frame which consist of an intumescent strip and smoke seal; typically called a “Doorset”, this is fixed onto a structure, that holds the fire door assembly in place.
Why is Fire Doorset Manufacturing and Installation Crucial?
If the Doorsets are not manufactured or installed properly, the fire resistant capabilities can be seriously compromised.
